Key Day
Monday 9th July from 9.30amFILM AUSTRALIA, Eton Rd, Lindfield
Corporates to Studio Feature Films camerapeople have to deal with Chroma key shoots from the simple talking head to multiple layer tracking key shots. ACS is offering a free "Key day"
In the morning we will light and shoot a Chroma Key sequence that offers both simple and complex challenges for a shooter. Ross Emery who has worked on Superman Returns, The Matrix trilogy and Dark City will guide us through the shoot. After lunch we will use high end tools from Autodesk such as Flame and also Final Cut Pro to process our shots. Leading Post production people from Animal Logic (Happy Feet, 300, 28 Weeks later) will help describe the elements needed to make key shots work. Learn more about the post process so as to shoot better. As part of the day we will look at different cameras from HDV to Digital Betacam to high Definition and to the different techniques that can be applied to lighting and shooting of Chroma Key. Have editors and post people buy you beers instead of cursing your name.
We are also looking for people to help shoot the event as we hope to make a Podcast of the day. We will pass the baton on the shooting so nobody has to shoot for too long.
Presently sponsors/participants in the Key Day are Animal logic, Ross Emery, Video Australasia, Amber Technologies, Texas Productions, Rosco Australia, Film Australia, Engine and John Barry.

Your opinions are valued. Your responses will be collated along with other members and forwarded to your state branch, which in turn will allow the various branch committees to address areas in the society that need improvement or development.
