Nominations for International Award for Cinematography are now open... This new award category sees the Australian Cinematographers Society recognise the work of feature film cinematographers, of any nationality, working on the international stage. All ACS members have the chance to nominate their favourite work.
To mark the 50th anniversary of Australian television and the 100th anniversary of the world's first feature, Australian film "The Story of the Ned Kelly Gang", the Awards are being held as part of a "Celebration of Cinematography" Festival. Also this weekend: Andrew Lesnie Q&A and Masterclass; Festival Launch at National Film & Sound Archive, Gary Graver presentation and Robert Krasker retrospective
Applications are now open for the Ross Wood Snr Memorial Trust Award, to be awarded at the 2006 National Awards. The award may be made annually (at the National Awards) to a member of the Australian Cinematographers Society who has made, or intends to make, a contribution to cinematography and/or develop their career in the areas of research, education, experimentation, or technical, scientific, or aesthetic innovation, or for any worthwhile cause for the advancement of cinematography in Australia.
