2007 Accreditations

The Australian Cinematographers Society has announced the names of the five cinematographers that were recently accredited at screenings held on Saturday 15 September 2007.

Those accredited were: Nick Paton (Qld) [Certificate 314], Alan Cole (Vic) [Certificate 315], David Knight (NSW) [Certificate 316], Will Gibson (Vic) [Certificate 317], Simon Christidis (Qld) [Certificate 318]

Will Gibsons accreditation was awarded posthumously following his passing earlier this year.

These 5 make up over 300 accredited cinematographers since the inception of accreditation by the ACS in 1963. A full list of accredited members is available on this website.

Membership> Accredited Directory

ACS Accreditation may be granted to a cinematographer who has been a full member of the society for a minimum of three years whose overall standard of cinematography is consistently high. Equal recognition is given to work produced on film or video tape.

The Accreditation Committee takes into consideration the standard of lighting, both interior and exterior, composition, operating and camera movement. Consideration will also be given to the cinematic approach in relation to content. The work submitted must demonstrate more than just professional competence. Creativity and aesthetic innovation will be qualities sought by the adjudicators.

Accreditation by the Society is deemed an honour and the Accredited Cinematographer shall have the right to use the letters ACS after his or her name.
