NEW CASH AWARD FOR EMERGING CINEMATOGRAPHERS
The Australian Cinematographers Society (ACS) and the National Film and Sound Archive (NFSA) have joined forces to offer a special new award for emerging cinematographers.
Help Build our ACS Club House
The ACS in conjunction FujiFilm are pleased to announce a new initative for the Society which will help make turn our dream of a clubhouse into a reality... For every roll of FUJI 35mm film stock purchased by an ACS member, the Society will receive a donation from FUJI for the ACS clubhouse fund.

Vale: John Leake ACS 1927-2009

Sydney - 21 August 2009

It is with great sorrow the Australian Cinematographers Society announces the passing of our dear colleague, friend and mentor John Leake ACS. He died peacefully this morning at 2.30am with his wife Marion and his daughters at his side.
 
John was a founding member of the Society and has served as both Federal President and NSW President of the ACS over the years. John always remained active within the ACS and until his death was the ACS official Historian.
 
John is survived by his wife Marion, four daughters, eight grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
 
He will be greatly missed by us all

Dearly loved husband of Marion, loving and caring Dad of Melissa, Micaele, Meredith and Marion, dear father-in-law of Chris, Will, Frank and David.

Loving and proud Pa of Natalie, James, Rebecca, Aimee, Elizabeth (deceased), Josh, April, Felicity, Linden and Great Grandfather of Imogen and Savannah.

Founding member of the Australian Cinematographers Society.

Family and friends are invited to attend JOHNS Funeral Service to be held Wednesday, (August 26, 2009) in the North Chapel of the Northern Suburbs Crematorium, Delhi Road, North Ryde commencing at 1.15pm.

In lieu of flowers, donations to The Australian Lung Foundation would be appreciated, envelopes will be available at the time of service.
