Ben Nott ACS nominated for ASC Awards

28 January 2005

Australian cinematographer, Ben Nott ACS, has been nominated for the 19th Annual American Society of Cinematographers (ASC) Awards for Outstanding Achievement in Cinematography being announced on 13 February 2005 in the Grand Ballroom at Hollywood & Highland, USA.

A first time nominee, Nott was nominated for his cinematography on the mini-series Salem’s Lot, directed by internationally acclaimed Mikael Salomon ACS and starring Rob Lowe and Donald Sutherland.

His extraordinary work as Director of Photography (DOP) on this mini-series has already led to the USA’s, and arguably the world’s, leading cinematography magazine, American Cinematographer, profiling Nott in its June 2004 issue.

'I felt privileged to be the DOP on Salem’s Lot and certainly didn’t expect that my work on the mini-series would receive such tremendous accolades within international cinematography circles. I am extremely honoured to be nominated for this prestigious award,' he said.

Further information on the ASC Awards can be obtained from the American Society of Cinematographers website www.theasc.com
