Victorian David Parer ACS has been awarded the Milli Award for Australian Cinematographer of the year for his documentary Platypus: Worlds Strangest Animal
2004 Hall of Fame Inductees
This year 4 cinematographers have been chosen, the late Arthur Hansen ACS, Daryl Binning ACS, Rob Copping ACS, and Jan Kenny ACS... Each of the inductees have during their various times contributed enormously to support of the Society.

Russell Boyd Announced as Guest of Honour at 2004 National Awards

2004 Oscar winner for Best Cinematography Russell Boys ACS will be guest of Honour at the prestigious 2004 ACS National Awards for Cinematography at the Gold Coast Arts Centre on Saturday May 15 2004.

Russell was awarded the Oscar for cinematography for cinematography on the feature Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World, which he shot with Australian director Peter Wier.

Russell was up against fellow Australian Cinematographer John Seale ACS ASC for the Oscar, as well as three other international cinematographers

Russell also received nominations in the prestigious American Society of Cinematographer (ASC) Awards, and the BAFTA’s Britain’s equivalent of the Oscars.

Russell is currently back in Australia, taking time out since finishing Master & Commander, and is looking forward to being with us at the National Awards
