2004 AFI Award Nominations

After weeks of speculation, the Australian Film Institute has to announced the nominees for the 2004 AFI Awards.
Among the nominations were eight ACS members in the 2 cinematography categories, including 2004 Australian Cinematographer of the Year David Parer ACS for the Milli winner, Platypus – World’s Strangest Animal.

Celebrating its 46th year, Australia’s most prestigious film and television awards will be held on Friday 29 October at the Regent Theatre in Melbourne. The Awards will pay tribute to this year's best feature, documentary, short fiction and short animation films along with 12 television awards.
AFI’s Chief Executive, Felicity Cockram said today “We are thrilled with the 2004 AFI Awards nominations, the quality of entries in all categories has been of an extremely high standard which has made for a very healthy competition year. An AFI nomination is a demonstration of your peer’s recognition, as it is arrived at through a detailed jury and member voting process. The AFI would like to congratulate all nominees.”
