At the recent ACS Federal Executive Meeting (May 16 Gold Coast) the ACS added support to denouncing the Australia / US Free Trade Agreement (AUS FTA), citing the affects it will have on our already struggling industry

Russell Boyd has received his first Academy Award nomination this year for MASTER AND COMMANDER: THE FAR SIDE OF THE WORLD. This film received 10 nominations all up in the non-acting categories including Art Direction, Costume Design, Directing, Film Editing, Makeup, Best Picture, Sound Editing, Sound, Visual Effects.

Cold Mountain is John Seale’s fourth Academy Award Nomination (previous nominations include THE ENGLISH PATIENT (1996) – Winner, and nominations for RAIN MAN (1988) and WITNESS (1985)).  Other nominations for this film include Actor in a Leading Role - Jude Law, Actress in a Supporting Role - Renée Zellweger, Film Editing, Music (Score), Music (Song), Music (Song)

Russell Boyd and John Seale, along with Andrew Lesnie (Lord of the Rings Triology) have also been for the 18th Annual ASC Outstanding Achievement Awards to be announced in Los Angeles on February 8. more
