John Radel Claims Top Honours

John Radel, a cinematography student from the Australian Film Television & Radio School (AFTRS) in New South Wales, has taken top honours in the Australian judging of the annual Kodak Filmschool Competition for his work on the film "Out On The Tiles”.

Miller will soon celebrate its 50 Anniversary and they need your help!

Miller Fluid Heads has been proudly manufacturing professional camera support systems in Australia since 1954. In fact the original patent for the fluid head was awarded to Eric Miller almost a decade earlier in 1946, while export to the United States commenced in 1958.

The history of Miller is inextricably entwined with the stories of Australian cinematographers, drawn to Hollywood or to foreign theatres of war, often with Miller wooden sticks in tow, and chasing their dream. It’s time to share our stories.

During our 50th Anniversary next year we’ll be celebrating our milestone through special events, anniversary books, trade shows, web/email marketing as well as publicity in the trade and mainstream print and TV media.

We want to talk to you and discuss your experiences. And we’re especially keen to receive photographs of cinematographers and videographers using Miller tripods from 1954 to the present.
