New President for WA Branch
Perth - 29 July 2003
Newly elected Australian Cinematographers Society WA President Ian Pugsley has been shooting images on film and videotape for more than thirty years. Outgoing President Ricky Harvey, who has worked tirelessly in the position for the last three and a half years, will now take up the role of Vice President.
As a freelance Director of Photography (D.O.P.) based in Perth he has worked for many Australian production companies and is a former member of the Board of ScreenWest.
Ian worked as a D.O.P. on some of the earliest children's television drama series in Western Australia helping to nurture that industry during its formative years. However more recently he has gained a reputation as a fine exponent of the documentary format filming on many human interest, travel and natural history documentaries.
Among his several awards is an AFI Award for Best Cinematography on locally produced documentary The Human Race.
Tania Chambers, Chief Executive of ScreenWest congratulated Ian; "We appreciate your commitment of personal time to the industry and look forward to working with you."
